February in Subnautica General Discussion. Hi guys, I just played through Subnautica: Below Zero. I really enjoyed the first game, and played through nearly to the end, while building some bases and enjoying the atmosphere. I really think Subnautica: Below Zero has a better potential for excellent gameplay and story than Subnautica had, but would like to give some advice about the things that matter most to me in that regard, as well as some suggestions for less important but still great features.
Spoilers, obviously. First and foremost is the issue of pop-in. Texture pop-in is very noticeable, but worse than that is environment and creature pop-in. The most egregious examples are the Rock Breakers and the Glow Whales, where the rock breaker crabs will spawn in above the ground, floating slowly to the bottom in a very conspicuous way. Glow whales pop in in full pods, all swimming in the same direction, and it completely breaks immersion.Yellow wattle jig
Extending the pop-in cutoff, improving pop-in spawn behavior, and reducing visibility at long distances would help with the issue. Second, the issue of clipping. Player clipping is limited to feet clipping below ground textures but creatures, especially leviathans, have had clipping issues for a long time. The Sea Emperor has a big problem with clipping through walls, and in addition his sharp turns look unnatural when he runs into a wall.
I don't know how to fix the issue, but my dream would be for leviathans to interact with walls intelligently, for example the Sea Emperor, when it gets too close to a wall, could turn its body and grip the wall with its tentacles to turn and push off.
This tech would likely require some hybrid animations, which I'm not sure are implemented yet and therefore would be a low priority.
Third, the narrative. The game comes off very strong at the beginning with a negative view of megacorps, but it's not couched in realism. Alterra's dominance in Subnautica was limited to small views of their galactic superiority, but in this game we get a close up look, and it doesn't show properly. The most striking example of this to me is the poster in the arctic base.
It boils down to "we own everything you find, and technology is good, culture bad". It doesn't really relate to our current or historical experience of corporations, and I think it could be well altered to something like "Alterra needs results!Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. I am at the point of the story where I was told to get a sample and put it in the rocket to send it, I have literally looked everywhere for the sea emperors, I went to the lillypad biome and spent hours to the point where I had to just teleport there using console, still couldn't find the sea emperor, am I doing something wrong?

He will appear when you get in the right area. Coordinates please? Coops View Profile View Posts. In my game I went to those coords and never saw the emperor but I heard her voice and found a sample.
Last time I played stable, she was further out than the lily pads. Basically find the lily pads and go further out from the direction of your life pod. Stirge View Profile View Posts.
I too cannot find the Sea Emperor at the, coordinates. I got out of my sea truck and swam around hoping to trigger something to no avail.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language.

Millions of squid sharks and brute sharks but no Sea Emperor. Do i need to get the rest of Al-An's parts first, or is there something else i need to do? Amrak is right. The emperors are there only when you need them. When Sam requests the enzyme. Originally posted by Ignis :. It counts. Go in your base, if you have done what I wrote you just have to wait at that point. But you have to be safe in your base to trigger all the dialogues before that.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic. Really makes me question AL-An's race and their "intelligence" as a whole.
What ever story changes they make i hope they find a way to keep that part in. Really good bit there As an aside Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 30 Nov, am. Posts: 9. Discussions Rules and Guidelines. The current story is written by Tom Jubertwith the new story being written by Jill Murray. Subnautica Below Zero is a survivaladventure game set in an open world environment and played from a first-person perspective. The player controls a researcher researching the local environment and nearby Alien Facility, on planet dubbed 'B'. Subnautica Below Zero takes place two years after the ending of Subnautica.
Alterra has placed the Vesper Station into orbit around the planet B for research. The player then encounters the voice of one of The Architects, letting the player know that Jeff is gone; the Alien Facility then gets locked off and requires a White Tablet to enter. The Alien Facility is then struck by a meteor and begins re-routing its power to Sanctuary. The player is told to get to the escape ship back at base, however, the ship takes off, and the player has to take shelter in Research Base Zero.
After the meteor shower triggers an Avalanche, the ice breaks below the player causing them to have to swim out into open water, and head to a Lifepod launched by Sam Goodall on the Vesper Station, just before The Vesper is struck by a meteorite damaging its communication ability. Shortly after, the player receives a message tracked to the Alien Sanctuary Site in the Twist Bridges. Once the player is exploring the Underwater Alien Facility, they are threatened by an Alien voice saying that its storage medium is failing.
As the player reaches the inner of the Alien Facility, it notes that is has found an "adequate storage medium". The player offers their PDA for the consciousnesses to transfer into, however, it transfers into the players Cerebral Cortex. The Alien Voice then lets the player knows its name is Al-an.
Early Access Game
As the player approaches Rocket Island, their PDA informs them that repairing the communications tower will reestablish contact with The Vesper, requiring the player to explore the Mercury II wreck, a ship that crashed anywhere from 30 to years ago.
After The Player repairs the communications tower, they are told the ship that took off at the beginning of the game crash-landed in the Glacial Basin and that they have three objectives: Find Jeff, extract a sample of the Kharaa sample and retrieve research data from Research Base Omega. In the Glacial Basin, the player finds the crashed escape ship. The player can locate Jeff's base in the Glacial Basin and is informed that Jeff is most likely in another sector.
A while after the player sends the Kharaa Bacterium, they get a message saying that it never arrived. Throughout the player's adventure, they find two more caches, each containing one of the other parts to The Architect's body.
When the player arrives in the Fabricator Base, they are told that they are able to construct Al-an a body and transfer his consciousness back into it. The Player gets contacted by Sam to be told that The Vesper's supply of Enzyme 42 deteriorated overnight and that they need a sample from a nearby Sea Emperor Leviathan. As the player sends the Enzyme up to The Vesper, an Architect shield covers the planet causing the rocket containing the cure to explode.
The player then calls Robin and the Mission director about what happened, Jeff then joins the call and says his intention to hold the Vesper crew hostage as they are most likely exposed to the Kharaa bacterium, alongside The Player being trapped on the surface.
From here on, the Story is not implemented, and won't be. Anything after the player enters the Alien Facility is not confirmed to have been the ending. After the player receives the White tablet to enter the facility, they head to the Alien Facility and enter it.
The game ends with The Vesper station being blown up. Alterra is funding a smaller company called XenoWorks, which the player works for. The Player heads down on a shuttle to the surface of B trying to "cover from Alterra satellites" to find their sister, Sam.
On the way down, a meteor crashes into the player causing their lifepod to deploy and them to crash land in Sector Zero. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. This article has multiple issues. No Precursor has ever been seen, so nothing is known of their physical appearance.Modi di salutare in inglese email
For use as a surgical table, they would most likely be around the same height as the surgeon's waist, by this it can be estimated that the Precursor race would have averaged between seven and eight feet in height. They are known to have had an extremely long lifespan, as evidenced in a data bank entry by the mention of a ninety-six year old Precursor being considered very young.
The same individual was near Earth-years old born 1, Earth-years ago when its body became infected after the Kharaa outbreak and the consciousness was stored in a data hub.
It is unknown if this lifespan is naturally long, or augmented like Paul Torgal'swho had expected to live to the age of before crashing on B.
The Precursors are known to have scavenged technology from other races. All but one of the relics held by them were taken from other races, some of these races even more ancient than themselves. One of the many relics is a sword from Earth, showing that the Precursors visited the planet and possibly even made contact with humans at some point.
This may be coincidental, however it may indicate that the Precursors influenced the formation of ancient human religions and societies. If this is true then it is also likely that some ancient Earth languages were based on the language of the Precursors; the PDA is capable of translating it without ever having encountered the language before, if the language was from a language family entirely foreign to any on Earth then translation should be impossible.
Their written language bears slight resemblances to Hebrew. Their language can be heard from the deactivation terminal within the Quarantine Enforcement Platform after Ryley attempts to disable, and after he successfully disables. The PDA is able to translate the former. They are also capable of creating Data Hubs, which they can upload their mind to, the digital equivalent of a medically-induced coma.
The Artifacts also possibly served as a personal computer and security clearance of sorts to its user according to the entry for the Blue Tablet. Also, they can create alloys that are highly heat-resistant and can last over one thousand years with no sign of degradation. Ion Cubes are another creation, having been produced from an unknown element not found on the Periodic Table, and fabricated inside the Primary Containment Facility's Antechamber.
Most, if not all Precursor technology is seemingly powered by Ion Cubes. Interestingly enough, Ion Cubes appear to be used ceremonially, as the three Sanctuary Caches have multiple Ion Cubes adorning them. The Precursors also created the Alien Robots that repair and, if need be, defend the Alien Bases from intruders. Around years ago, after exploring a planet for routine expansion, the Precursors came across the Kharaa Bacterium.
The Kharaa infection quickly spread across the Precursors' core worlds, where it was responsible for billions of deaths. This article contains unmarked spoilers. Players new to the game would want to avoid or be cautious toward this article. The closest translation of the alien symbol for this specimen is 'sea emperor'. Bone samples from deceased leviathan specimens indicate some potential for Kharaa immunity. Single specimen captured for study at purpose-built emperor containment facility, constructed in volcanic region at depth m.
It is sentient and telepathic. Its tentacles are adorned with bright cyan bioluminescent "bulbs. It has four binocular eyes, glowing cyan in color. The Sea Emperor Leviathan's posterior consists of seven long, yet slim tentacles ending with large tentacular clubs, with the largest being in the center, surrounded by the six smaller tentacles. Unlike the Sea Dragon Leviathanthe Sea Emperor Leviathan doesn't have true graspers; instead, its forelimbs are two massive, paddle-like arms, which are similar to those of sea turtles.
Despite its gargantuan size, the Sea Emperor Leviathan's diet consists solely of micro-organisms filtered from the water. When the Kharaa Bacterium was released onto the planet, many creatures died, destroying the food source of the species.
The Sea Emperor Leviathan is capable of telepathic speech, which it uses to communicate with the player at various locations around the world. Whenever it communicates with the player, the screen becomes distorted in a similar way to when a Warper teleports the player, or a Mesmer hypnotizes the player.
The Sea Emperor Leviathan will first contact the player telepathically either sixty minutes after attempting to deactivate the Quarantine Enforcement Platform or twenty minutes after reaching the Disease Research Facility whichever happens first.
It will contact the player again shortly after they have obtained the Blue Tabletand again upon entering the Lava Lakes. It will continue to interact with the player upon entering the Aquarium, telling them what they need to do in order to hatch the eggs.
After the player inserts an Ion Cube into the Incubator Device, the Sea Emperor Leviathan will speak to the player, and will move to the left side of the Alien Arch, and blow away the sand, uncovering the Arch that the player can use to access the Arch outside of the Quarantine Enforcement Platform.
Upon entering the aquarium, the Sea Emperor Leviathan will climb up to observe and speak to the player, then descend back down. It will also watch the player intently if they are near the Incubator Device or the aquarium Arch, quickly spinning around and coming to a rest on the aquarium's floor. The captive Sea Emperor Leviathan is the last remaining adult of its species and a parent to at least seven eggs.
The creature is approximately two thousand six hundred years old, having massively surpassed its species' natural lifespan. Almost all of the Sea Emperor Leviathans died when the Kharaa Bacterium was released as it killed off their food source, leaving only the one captive adult and the eggs it was discovered with.
The Precursors studied the last surviving Sea Emperor Leviathan in hopes of finding a cure using its natural production of Enzyme One other egg was taken to the egg lab, where it was also tested on. Still, they could find no way to cause the hatching process to trigger naturally, and juveniles born outside of the natural conditions could not produce suitable enzymes.
Shortly after this, the Disease Research Facility was destroyed, releasing the Kharaa Bacterium, causing all Arches to the facility to be closed and initiating the planetary quarantine. At an unspecified time, the Sea Emperor Leviathan managed to train Peepers to use the Alien Vents to distribute Enzyme 42 to the surface. Under the Sea Emperor Leviathan's control, Peepers traveled through the Alien Vent, bringing flora seeds to the aquarium, and leaving with small amounts of Enzyme 42 which they distribute at the surface.THE RATS ATE HIM!! - Kick The Buddy - Fan Choice Friday
